Location: My wife Dorte and I
are Danish, but we have lived in

service industries and their
hourly paid
employees very hard.
In Florida we have 190 commuter airplanes come in from the New York area every day,
and Florida fears the spread of virus and conditions like they have
up in NY. The governor has ordered a
14-day quarantine for anyone arriving, but it is difficult to enforce. The big
food chains Publix, Costco and WholeFood, do what they can with "social
distance" in the long queues and also with early access times only for the elderly.
Thoughts: It is difficult to shut down the world's largest
economy for a long period of time and the consequences are impossible to estimate, however, health experts and Bill Gates believe it is
necessary. Each state has its own Corona curve
and an opening in one state will automatically infect the neighbouring states if they open too early.
Lesson to be learned: Globalisation is not only economics and politics.
Climate and pandemics are global
threats that affect everyone, so we need to work together globally to fight them.
Let's hope that the EU, China and the US can come together to solve this task.
